EDUCATION ASSISTANCE

Thirty-two young Malaysians between the ages of 6 and 16, became the first batch of recipients to be awarded scholarships for Primary and Secondary School education. Each student received financial aid amounting to RM2,500 a year to help cover all fees and education related expenses such as tuition, books, uniform, shoes and bus fare.

Sunrise Education Foundation (SEF) is dedicated to improving lives by providing financial support in the form of scholarships and other forms of subsidy for the pursuit of education, skills and knowledge for the underprivileged.

Speaking at the launching, SEF Trustee, Tan Sri Em. Prof. Datuk Dr Augustine S. H. Ong said, “Today, there are many students who have the capability and desire to learn but not the means or the support they need to finish school.

Whatever you choose to do – to be a teacher, a lawyer, an accountant, a journalist, a scientist, an engineer – work hard and pursue your interest with your heart and soul.
Next year, the Foundation will be disbursing merit-based scholarship awards for academically excellent students to pursue tertiary education at institutes of higher learning in Malaysia and top-ranked universities abroad.
