The “weather” is one topic that stood the test of time and will never get old. The westerner can always start a conversation with a comment on the weather. Apparently for Malaysians, FOOD would always be a fresh and exciting topic, especially when everyone could relate and contribute to the topic.

I spoke to a friend of mine and found out that there can be two different dishes with the exact same name. The “otak-otak” (literal translation from the Malay language would be “brain-brain”), wrapped inside banana leaf made of fish paste with a tad of spicy taste is prepared very differently up north in Penang as compared to down south in Johor.
Just the other day I came across the “otak-otak” at MEE JAWA in Solaris Dutamas in Mont Kiara, but I opted to only go with the curry mee as I know I won’t be able to finish an additional dish. I heard from my friend regarding the favorite Mee Jawa here amongst the patrons.

Mee Jawa : The food is good, and is decently priced. Not to mention, they are currently having a 20% discount on the bill!
