Motoring along Jalan Kiara, I often see workers in flourescent green jackets, tidying and clearing litter along this busy public thoroughfare. And if I were a pedestrian, I would enjoy walking along well-kept shady tree-lined streets and clean pavements.

Known as the Sunrise Broom Brigade, this group of 6 cleaners are hard at work everyday maintaining a clean environment by sweeping up dried leaves and trash. They also remove fallen branches which may pose a danger to motorists and pedestrian safety.

To reduce the risk of dengue, I have seen fogging and larviciding (to kill mosquito larvae) exercises being carried out by pest controllers once every two weeks.
Sunrise cleaners also check the drains regularly to clear stagnant water to get rid of breeding grounds for mosquitoes.

These measures taken by Sunrise contribute to a more healthy, wholesome living environment for its communities.
